The
Adopt-A-Stream Program was developed to encourage citizen volunteers
to monitor local streams in their communities and to educate the
residents of Fulton County about water quality issues. Volunteers
are trained to monitor their local streams for both chemical/physical
and biologicl parameters, including pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature,
and macroinvertebrate surveys. Not only is monitoring fun and
educational for all ages, it also provides the County with valuable
baseline data for stream health.
