Statement of Policy: Whenever a building, electrical, plumbing or mechanical permit has been issued by the Director of Inspections and Permits to any person, firm, or corporation and the fee for such permit has been paid but no work has been performed there under, a portion of such fees paid to the Director of Inspections and Permits may be refunded upon the written request of the individual making the payment and surrender of the original permit. The amount to be refunded shall be determined as follows:
Procedure: Whenever a permit has been issued to any person, firm, or corporation upon payment of the required fee to Fulton County, and for any reason the work does not begin, and the permit has not expired, ;the individual actually making the payment may receive a refund of a portion of the upon request in writing ;and surrender of the original permit to the Director of Inspections and Permits. The Director of Inspections and permits shall recommend ;the amount to be refunded, based on the above policy, and forward the request with his recommendation to the County Manager. Upon approval by the County Manager, the Finance Department shall refund the amount involved. The County Manager shall submit to the Board of Commissioners a monthly report of such refunds as a part of the regular Montly Report of Refunds.
Should a request for refund be denied by the County Manager, he shall report such action to the Board of Commissioners with the reasons for the denial as a part of the Monthly Report of Refunds |
